little did I know when i unwrapped the kodak instamatic 104 at my twelvth birthday party and started snapping images of my twin sister along with our giggling guests in their rainbow lounge pajamas that it was to be a seminal moment in my future career. however,
it was a college summer session in Paris and the south of France studying modern languages and sporting a borrowed 35mm camera that crystallized my affair with travel and the camera. i loved the fresh perspectives gained through the lens. my craving for this
combination is ineffable. it is as mark twain writes, "broad, wholesome, charitable views cannot be acquired by vegetating in one little corner of the earth all one's lifetimeā.
i continued this new path as custom color printer and photo assistant for creative resources corporation, an inc. magazine top 500 organization. i discovered my eye for color and honed the technical side of my craft. my career advanced in the school of
hard knocks when i forged ahead on my own. a 100-year-old, 4500 square foot historic building is now home to shevaun williams & associates, inc. the renovated space includes full kitchen, make-up/dressing facilities, staging area and three separate studio spaces.
i continue to be inspired by the art of photography every day. excitement, attention to detail and passion for the subject matter are the order of the day. i am grateful every day that this chosen avenue of expression throws me in the path of like minded artists.
and i can still rock an award winning layout back off the springboard.
